About me

I am an Australian writer of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror, with a vibe that tends a little dark and often bittersweet (also how I like my chocolate and coffee). I'm not above humour and happily ever after endings, but since I dabble in creepy-horror and near-future / apocalyptic visions, my characters don't always make it out unscathed.

My influences are widespread. I read a bit of everything, watch a lot of Netflix and anime, and play a whole bunch of video games. My academic background is in neuroscience and psychology. I have a PhD and worked in research, so I'm a bit of a brain science geek.

I love nerdy stuff and cute things. I like cramming my brain full of facts and learning new things. I enjoy travel; whether in the real world, literary world or gaming world. And cake. I also really love cake.

In short, I'm just a froody ex-academic who knows where their towel is (if you know, you know).
I also have an unpredictable and chronic illness, hence the ex-academic part, but that's a story for another time.
