Helena O’Connor is an Australian science fiction, fantasy, and horror writer whose work tends towards bittersweet, dystopian themes with a dash of hope. Previously an academic in neuroscience research, her writing explores identity, relationships, philosophy, and ethics, particularly with regard to advancing technologies.
Her fiction has been published in highly regarded anthologies and literary magazines, such as Abyss & Apex, Andromeda Spaceways, Aurealis, Kaleidotrope, and Nature Futures. Her first novella, Willow Close, will be released in 2025 from IFWG publishing and she is working on future long form projects. She likes video games, cats, coffee and cake.
