Helena O’Connor is an Australian science fiction, fantasy, and horror writer whose work tends towards bittersweet, dystopian themes with a dash of hope. Previously an academic in neuroscience research, her writing explores identity, relationships, philosophy, and ethics, particularly with regard to advancing technologies.
Her fiction has been published in highly regarded anthologies and literary magazines, such as Abyss & Apex, Andromeda Spaceways, Aurealis, Kaleidotrope, and Nature Futures. She has several longer works in progress. She also likes video games, cats, coffee and cake.
